And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.” John 1:16 NKJV
Christians need to beware of non-biblical teaching that mixes law and grace. We need to understand, trust and accept the fullness of God’s grace that comes through Jesus Christ.
1. The grace of the Lord saves us.
Grace pays our sin debt: past, present and future. All that Jesus did (in perfect obedience) is applied to my “account”, a rich deposit of Christ’s righteousness. The only way to receive God’s grace is through faith.
2. The grace of God keeps us saved. (Not works)
We have eternal life in Jesus, not a probationary life.
3. The grace of God enables us to live the Christian life.
4. The grace of God changes us.
The Holy Spirit invades our lives to radically change and sanctify us on the inside.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2 NKJV
