Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” Phil 3:12 NKJV
There are things that we can lay hold of this side of glory. The best is yet to come! Since we have the Holy Spirit inside of us, there is NO reason why a Christian should have a defeated life. The Holy Spirit enables us to press on.
If we want to experience the fullness that the Lord has for us, the only way is to PRESS ON AND DEVELOP A PRESSING SPIRIT. You have to have a desire/flame/hunger for the Lord. Don’t quench/throw water on the fire!
1. PRESS ON TO A CLOSER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD.
Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to dine with him and he with me.” Rev 3:20 NKJV
“Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hearts, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded!” James 4:8 NKJV
“You will show me the path of life; In your presence is FULLNESS of joy;” Psalms 16:11
2. PRESS ON TO MORE SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING.
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the (FULL) knowledge of him.” Ephesians 1:17 NKJV
“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and understanding…”
Colossians 1:9 NKJV
The Lord wants us to experience a mature, spiritual understanding and revelational knowledge. WHEN WE ATTAIN A FULLER UNDERSTANDING OF SPIRITUAL THINGS, THEN WE EXPERIENCE/ENCOUNTER TRUTH. IT IS A POWERFUL FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT!
