Press On! To More and Deeper Worship – Part 6

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4: 23-24 NKJV

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2 NKJV

” Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand…” Psalm 149:6 NKJV

Worship is much more than just praise. My life and my mouth should be lifting up the Lord, exalting the Lord.

Worship is the total giving of myself to the Lord for His purpose and for His will.

My body as a living sacrifice. The whole person needs to be put on the alter of God and die to ourselves. Dead to myself but ALIVE to God!

If you are going to experience God’s fullness, you need to die to self. A life that’s living for self is a wasted life.

It’s time to go into the deep waters of worship. You’ll understand your real purpose and God’s will for your life.

Ways to accomplish this:

1. Walk and live in a life of unconditional and total giving of ourselves to the Lord, no strings attached.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11 NKJV

2. We need to walk in continual and complete obedience.

And Abraham said to his young men, ‘Stay here with the donkey; the lad[a]and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.'” Genesis 22:5 NKJV

Abraham considered the sacrifice of his son a form of obedient worship.

Don’t be a compromising Christian. Worship is complete obedience. Partial obedience is disobedience.

3. Press into an uncompromising, separated life from the world. Be in the world but be separate from the world.

Worship includes removing evil from my life as well as those things that are devoted to destruction. (Read Joshua 7) We need to remove not only those things that are obviously evil: It could be something that is neutral but our relationship with that neutral thing is hindering our worship and devotion to the Lord.

What are the results? You will experience Peace, you will know the will of God for your life, and you will be a mighty instrument of grace!
